USL Goes Viral: Germs, Bacteria & the human body (ages 6-10)

The theme of this year’s Spring STEAM Camp is USL Goes Viral: Germs, Bacteria, and the Human Body! 

Did you know that we have more microbial cells, like germs, bacteria, and fungus, in our body than human cells?! Rather than make us sick, the human body has adapted to co-exist with and even depend on many of these microbial organisms. This week we’ll get into the science of gross! Investigate different organs in the human body, map the microscopic ecosystem that lives on our skin, grow your own bacteria culture, and model the structures of bacteria and viruses.

Spring STEAM camp will run from April 22-30, 2024 (7 days).

Full day (8am - 3pm): $830/all 7 days or $120/day.
Extended care (3-6pm): an additional $45/day or $300/week.

Daily Routine

8a-9a: Drop-off & games

9a-10:15a: Guided group lab/experiment

10:15a-10:30a: Snack time (snacks provided)

10:30a-11:45p: Guided group lab/experiment

11:45a-12:15p: Lunch (not provided)

12:15p-1:15p: Freetime/outside time in the USL backyard

1:15p-2:15p: Group art project

2:15p-3:00p: Classroom game
