LENA Start Research at USL

We are now recruiting!!

Urban STEAM Lab is teaming up with Adelphi University's Dr. Reem Khamis-Dakwar in a new research project looking at language development in children 0-3 using LENA Start technology. We are recruiting 10 Spanish speaking families with children in the 0-3 age group.

What you will be doing:
🧠 Attend a FREE class every Friday from 12-1 (10 classes)
🧠 Learn how talking with your baby/toddler encourages language and brain development

What we offer in return:
🗣 FREE on-site childcare during your class
🗣 10 FREE children's books
🗣 $50 gift card upon completion of the program

Classes and childcare will be held at Urban STEAM Lab. Classes begin September 27th, 2019!

LENA Start is a program for parents of children ages 0-3 that uses regular feedback from LENA technology to help increase interactive talk in order to close the early-talk gap, support kindergarten readiness, and build stronger families.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at what a LENA Start session is like for families who participate all around the country! LENA Start helps parents promote and participate in their child's learning. Feedback-based educational content helps parents advance their own learning interests, and the peer model builds social well-being and community.
